Fit was snug, I didn't get anywhere near the movement another person claimed. In fact, it was more stable and there was less movement than with the stock hand guards on the M-16 A1/2 I lugged around Iraq.
Nice and light, and tapered so the bottom slides into the top, a neat fit.

FIRST OFF, LET ME SAY THAT I LOVE DTI PRODUCTS. I HAVE AN 11.5 DTI CARBINE WHICH RUNS LIKE A TOP...NO ISSUES AT ALL. THAT IS UNTIL I PUT THIS HANDGUARD ON. I REALLY WANTED TO LIKE THIS RAIL...BUT, IT JUST WASNT WORKING FOR ME. AS FAR AS FINISH GOES, THIS THING IS TOP NOTCH! FLAWLESS IN FACT! BUT, IT JUST DOEST SEEM TO WANT TO SEAT PROPERLY AND LOCK IN PLACE TO THE UPPER. I KNOW MOST NON FREE FLOAT RAIL SYSTEMS WILL HAVE A LITTLE PLAY IN THEM, BUT THIS IS PRETTY MUCH UNUSABLE. IT ROTATES A GOOD 1/4" WHEN PRESSURE IS APPLIED. I FIGURED THIS WOULD BE PRETTY SNUG SINCE ITS A DTI HANDGUARD GOING ON A DTI UPPER....NOPE. SHOULDVE STUCK WITH DANIEL DEFENSE. SORRY DTI...
