Bought this unit along with barrel/upper from Delton. Sited in shot four mags. Put unit in safe, month later went out to shoot, no power. Pulled battery, battery charged at 3volts. Units internals failed. Put battery back, unit turns on, while shooting red dot falls to 6 o'clock. Then red dot dissappeared. Attempted contact Delton.. no repsonse yet. Do not buy this unit.

Not what I expected January 3, 2011

Took it out of the box, put the battery in, and quickly knew it wasn't what I wanted. The threaded battery cap is just to the outside of the reticle intensity knob, so opening/closing the battery cap can rotate the intensity knob, and vice versa. There is no on-off switch. To turn the unit on you have to rotate the reticle intensity knob from level 0 to the level you want, and then back to 0 to turn it off. The lens cover hinges felt cheap. Biggest disappointment was that the reticle was not a crisp dot. It was more of an asymmetrical asterisk * that became more distorted the higher I turned the intensity. Turning up the intensity also appeared to change the size of the reticle (maybe all red dots are like this). Mount is not quick-release (my bad). I returned the scope without mounting it on my rifle. Unfortunately, I had to pay the 15% restocking fee. I'm no expert, but I thought this would be a good first optic at a reasonable price. It just wasn't what I expected.
