Went with the chrome lining. Not a true lightweight profile, it's just turned down in front of the fsb. Still fairly light and the extra thickness might help it shoot a bit better because this I'm getting really good accuracy with it. This is my second DelTon barrel and I recommend them.

Good basic barrel	August 1, 2016

Used this barrel in a conversion to a lightweight CAR from an old Colt A2 HBAR rifle. I also have a Colt Gov't Carbine and a "Franken15" with an ER Shaw barrel which both have similar lightweight profiles to this Del-Ton barrel. I conducted a "shoot-one/clean/repeat" method for break-in. I'm getting about 1" groups with 55gr 5.56 ball ammo at 30 yards with iron sights and old eyes. I suspect with optics I would see about half that size group. Stretch that out to 100 yds and it would probably be in that 1.5 to 2 MOA. In comparison to my other two guns, this barrel is on par for accuracy and function so far. Feeding and extraction is flawless. Brass is thrown at about 3 O'Clock and at an expected distance and there is no excessive markings on the brass from the extractor so the gas port is likely the correct size. Overall, this seems to be a good service grade barrel at a reasonable price.

Used this barrel for re-creation of original CAR-15. Used with M-16 kit from de-commissioned military rifles. Bought new lower and assembled all parts. Barrel works flawless with old A-1 upper. Grouping as good as newer more expensive rifles I have. Have used Del-Ton 20" for original A-1 rifle re-builds as well. All work excellent. Would be nice if included sling mount and sight parts for a few more bucks, but no big deal. Will buy again for just such projects.

Great looking barrel, fit perfectly on A2 upper! It was exactly what I wanted! Customer service was top notch can't complain at all. I'm going to get another one to build another A2. Over all great product!!!

Del-Ton never lets me down, arrived in just a couple of days, fit perfect with a different manufacture's upper, looks and shoots greet. best buy for the money. just hope they get their stock items back up to pre-panic levels.
